Backflow testing available upon request for Seattle

Backflow Testing Seattle

Backflow testing by a state certified backflow assembler can be done (if needed) during your annual maintenance service.

Please note there is an extra charge for backflow testing and state law requires that it be tested annually.

What is the backflow assembly?

The back flow assembly connects your boiler to the city’s water service and its purpose is to stop stagnant water from your boiler system from contaminating the city of Seattle’s water system.

Why is yearly back flow testing mandatory?

The backflow protection assembly protects your drinking water from potential sources of contamination, which is why it’s vital that it work properly.

Who can test it?

Only technicians who are certified by the state, which we have.

How do I know if I need one done?Annual Boiler Maintenance

Seattle public utilities send out reminder notifications about backflow testing requirements and it’s your responsibility to have your boiler system tested by the date specified on your notice.

You may be charged a fee and/or have your water service shut off if you do not have your assembly tested within the required time period.
